This is a form of therapy aimed to benefiting culturally diverse individuals. It recognizes the importance of race, culture, beliefs, values, attitudes, religion and language in the life of the client. Caroline practices therapy in three different languages: English, Armenian, and Turkish.
Intergenerational Trauma
Many people growing up hear tales of collective trauma and get imbued with inner turmoils that they did not live. Most people are unaware that emotions and experience from one generation can be and often are passed on to the next generation. Unknowingly, they may be carrying the psychological scars and baggage of previous generations, unable to heal until they can recognize the source. Trauma is carried and passed on in the psyche, the body and the DNA of the person. It is up to this generation to heal old wounds and break the trauma cycle.
